Hot can to protect our personal folders and documents in shared computer.
Version: 1.2

In this post, I will show how to make the protected folder to which only has access to your user.
Many people want to have a folder to which only they have access. This especially if it is a personal folder or high-value information. There are many programs offering lock folders via passwords. It is appropriate way to protect your information but nedastataka is that you must install an additional program that can be stopped at any time by a user having the knowledge to do so. This way you will describe in this article may apply to the personal computer, so could be applied to business computer if you have the necessary rights.
In the operating system Microsoft Windows (XP, Vista, 7) a level of access. The level of access is determined by which group in security are.
Folders in Windows to apply those levels of access by applying nivto of access by the security group. These access levels can be inherited Butt to other users and thus all users have access to the system. Exactly what can be used to limit consumer access to certain folders. Create a folder, then limiting levels sigurnst inherited from other users and only heir to remain at the level of security, only your user.
So here is the way to do this:

1. Create a new folder or just target a folder you wish to lock
2. Right click on that folder and choose from the menu Properties

3. Than in folder properties go to Security tab (How to enable Security tab in Windows XP)

4. In Groups and user name you can find a users and group list access to this folder (some of them are system owned)
5. From Permission for choose (dependent by users and group access level) advance
6. In Advanced Security Settings for you can type your username and attach it to this folder
7. Then choose Change Permissions
8. In next window uncheck Include inheritable permissions form this object's parent
9. Than choose add

10. In this window you can type your username to be attached to the folder in access list
11. And then click buttons of rest windows by follow OK > Apply OK > OK OK
By this way you have protect your personal folder. Only your username will have access to this folder.
Assets: Fast way to protect your personal folder from rest user or from your children using yours home computer. It does not require any additional software.
Less: There may be restrictions on using it if you use a business computer. Regardless of the protection information can be read if you skip sisitema operating.

Microsoft Windows supports encryption. In the operating system is embedded encrypted system (EFS - Encrypted File System). It allows you to encrypt your data to a folder and a separate files, regardless of where they are stored. This encryption not involved in groups and access levels. Especially in this way is that when encrypted data is created in exported certificate key . This certificate must be kept even after reinstallation of the system.
So how to encrypt our information (folders, files):
1. Right mouse click on the chosen file or folder and choose from the menu Properties

2.  From Properties choose Advanced then choose Encrypt contents to secure data

3. Click OK > Apply. In Confirm Attribute Changes choose which of content you wish to encrypt in folder - just folder or folder and all contained files. Pay attention of these options. If choose to encrypt only folder and if you move out of this folder one of the file, it will no longer be encrypted. But in other case all encrypted data will stay encrypted in other places. Then click OK

4. After you encrypt the folder/files the name it will appear in green.

Next step is to export certificate key of this encryption:
1. Start Internet Explorer
2. Choose from menu Tools > Internet Options

3. Then go to Content tab, then Certificate

4. This window will show you your personal certificate, created by Windows

5. Than choose Export > Next

6. Now you can choose one of these options. Now please choose first one:
    - Export the private key ( in our example)
    - Nodo not export

7. In next window you can choose some these options
8. Next wizard will ask you to provide a password to protect your key. Type some and remember it.
9. And finally choose where you want to export your Certificate

10. Then Next > Finish

Assets: Works on limited user access computer. Even to access the hard drive over the Windows all encrypted folder/files wouldn't be accessible without Certificate.
Less: The Certificate must be kept. If you reinstall Windows all encrypted folders/files will not be accessible without the certificate.
